This learning process is markedly different from the traditional classroom-lecture-discussion. Rather it engages participants in a compelling manner that permits exploring and mastering the new ways of leadership behavior. Until people can relate to a concept through personal experience, they are unable to understand it—it remains a non-sensory abstraction that is quickly forgotten. Only when one can relate through one's own personal experience, does one begin to "own it." The concept becomes internalized and generalizes to other life context.
